Job Description

We are seeking a reliable and hands-on In-House Engineer / Warehouse Operative to join our busy operations team. This dual-role position involves both technical engineering work on a range of machines and general warehouse duties. You will play a vital part in ensuring machines are prepared, tested, and dispatched to the highest standards, while also maintaining an organised and efficient warehouse environment.Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough testing of all machines prior to despatch to ensure optimal functionality and safety compliance.
  •  Fit and install any additional extras or modifications required by customer specifications.
  •  Perform in-house repairs on "return to base" machines, diagnosing faults and carrying out necessary fixes efficiently.
  •  Refurbish part-exchange machines to meet resale standards, including cleaning, replacing components, and conducting performance checks.
  •  Safely load and offload machines for delivery and collection using appropriate equipment (e.g., forklift, pallet truck).
  •  Maintain a clean and organised warehouse, including the proper arrangement and storage of machines and parts.
  •  Support stock control by helping with inventory checks and ensuring machines are correctly logged and located.
  •  Assist with general warehouse housekeeping and contribute to maintaining a safe working environment.

The ideal candidate will have the following skills:

  •  Previous experience in a mechanical or electrical engineering role is preferred.
  •  Hands-on experience with machine testing, fitting, or repairs is desirable.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.
  •  Forklift licence (desirable but not essential; training may be provided).
  •  Good organisational skills with a keen eye for detail.
  •  Ability to work independently as well as part of a small, close-knit team.
  •  Physically fit and able to lift/move heavy equipment when required.
