£32,000 per annum

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Transport Planner to join a fast paced Food and Beverage logistics operation based in Derby. This role sits within a busy control tower environment and plays a key part in ensuring the smooth and cost effective planning and routing of vehicles across the network.

Hours of Work:

09:00 to 18:00, Monday to Friday
Temp to perm
Key Responsibilities:

Plan and route vehicles efficiently to ensure full utilisation of resources
Liaise with customer service teams to resolve delivery related issues
Ensure all vehicles are planned in line with customer SLAs
Manage subcontractor usage and ensure costs align with agreed rates
Resolve subcontractor financial queries in a timely manner
Work closely with Transport Managers to address operational issues
Provide final route plans to the warehouse within agreed deadlines
Plan ahead for peak periods and secure necessary transport resource
Support performance monitoring against customer KPIs
Skills and Experience Required:

Previous experience in a transport planning role at a supervisory level
Experience working with subcontractors
Strong UK geographical knowledge
Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
Confident user of Microsoft Office including Excel
Excellent communication and relationship building skills
Strong organisational, time management and problem solving skills
