Temporary Merchandiser We’re seeking an experienced Merchandiser to join a leading UK retailer on a temporary basis (2–3 months). This role is key to maximising sales and profit through smart stock management, commercial planning, and continuous improvement. Main duties of this Merchandiser role: Product Selection: Collaborate with buyers to research and select products that fit customer needs, supporting decisions with performance analysis. Range Planning: Forecast sales for promotions, new initiatives, and core ranges. Present commercial roll-ups for senior approval. Promotion Planning: Lead and develop campaigns to boost visibility and sales, working with buying and space planning teams. Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels, minimise excess, and manage exits profitably. WSSI Management: Oversee WSSI across categories to support forecasting, availability, and intake plans. Sales Analysis: Analyse data to identify trends, shape product mix, and inform pricing decisions. Supplier Management: Build strong supplier relationships, negotiate terms, and maintain quality standards. Customer Insights: Stay on top of market and customer trends to anticipate demand. Critical Path Management: Manage end-to-end category critical paths, ensuring launches and promotions land on time. Team Development: Support junior team members to drive performance and growth.Skills required for this Merchandiser role: Proven experience in a retail merchandising role. Commercial, data-driven approach with excellent analytical skills. Strong Excel and data handling expertise. Clear communicator with a collaborative mindset. Resilient, customer-focused, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Experience within a large-scale retail environment.
