Are you an experienced Credit Controller looking for your next opportunity, or perhaps you're in an accounts role and ready to take the next step? A well-established and growing business in St Leonards-on-Sea is seeking a Credit Controller to join their friendly and supportive accounts team. If you have a solid background in credit control or accounts and enjoy building relationships with clients while ensuring smooth and efficient processes, this could be the perfect role for you!
What you’ll be doing:
- Managing the sales ledger, including invoicing, cash allocation, and debt recovery
- Keeping debtor days low by following up on overdue accounts in a timely manner
- Quickly resolving customer queries by liaising with different departments
- Performing accurate bank and cash reconciliations
- Assisting with customer reports, rebates, and discounts
- Handling general administration, including updating procedural documentation
- Supporting the wider accounts team with various finance tasks and analysis
What we’re looking for:
- Proven experience in credit control or a similar finance role
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for liaising with customers and suppliers
- High proficiency in Excel and general accounting software
- Ability to manage large data sets with accuracy and attention to detail
- Knowledge of basic accounting processes and VAT legislation
- Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritise effectively
- A Level education or equivalent
