We are currently recruiting a Material Controller to join the Planning and Logistics Department of a well-established precision machining company based in Coventry. This is a temporary-to-permanent opportunity, with an immediate start available for the right candidate.
Working Hours
- Monday to Thursday: Standard hours: 7:30am – 4:30pm, Flexible start times available: 6:00am, 6:30am or 7:00am
- Friday: Standard hours: 7:30am – 12:30pm, Flexible start times available: 6:00am, 6:30am or 7:00am
Pay
£14.00 per hour
Key Responsibilities
- Ensuring the Goods In, Stores and Despatch areas operate efficiently to support the manufacturing process
- Operating mechanical handling equipment, including a counterbalance forklift truck, and an automatic billet saw
- Liaising with internal departments, suppliers, and customers to coordinate deliveries
- Managing despatch activities with the Planning Manager, ensuring goods are packed correctly and company standards are maintained
- Providing material availability information to support new sales orders
- Purchasing non-production materials and acting as the main point of contact with suppliers
- Maintaining positive working relationships to support effective teamwork
Experience & Skills Required
- 3–4 years’ experience in material handling and coordination within a manufacturing environment
- Previous stores experience, ideally including quality control
- Experience with goods in, including booking in deliveries
- Some experience purchasing direct and indirect materials
- Ability to use measuring equipment, including verniers and micrometres
- PC literate, with basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
