Job Overview:
You will be responsible for managing commercial files related to property acquisitions and refinancing under the supervision of the Head of Commercial Law. This role requires you to ensure that all deadlines set by auctioneers and client requirements are met. Effective communication with clients, solicitors, lenders, and agents is essential, along with maintaining accurate case records and adhering to the firm's policies and procedures.
Main Duties:
- Taking client instructions and advising them on aspects of their matter.
- Agreeing case strategy with the Supervising Solicitor and proactively progressing matters.
- Communicating with clients to provide regular updates and obtain required information.
- Preparing essential documentation, including completion statements, payment request forms, Stamp Duty forms, Land Registry applications, and engrossment documents.
- Submitting documents such as Stamp Duty forms and Land Registry applications.
- Conducting AML checks, file reviews, and risk assessments.
- Ordering searches and obtaining relevant documentation from sources like the Land Registry and Companies House.
- Liaising with solicitors, lenders, agents, and other departments within the firm, including the compliance and support teams.
- Accurately maintaining up-to-date electronic case records.
Skills:
- A Law degree or equivalent work-based experience.
- Essential: A minimum of 12 months of experience working in a law firm.
- Desirable: Experience working within Commercial Property or in a fast-paced office environment.
- Communication Skills: Ability to communicate professionally with clients, solicitors, and industry professionals.
- Written Skills: Strong spelling, grammar, and written communication skills.
- Attention to Detail: High accuracy when preparing legal documents and completing forms.
- Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively with clients, lawyers, and legal secretaries.
- Discretion: Strong sense of confidentiality.
- Ability to Work Under Pressure: Demonstrate resilience and calmness when handling deadlines.
- IT Skills: Competence in using electronic systems for case management.
Knowledge:
