Hours: Mon - Thurs 08:00–16:30, Fri 08:00–13:30 (yes, EARLY Friday finishes!)
This is an ideal opportunity for an ambitious, energetic Project Engineer, with an understanding of project frameworks, NEC 3/4 and are keen to move into a Project Manager role with a solid firm who will support you with a recognised Project Management qualification.
We’re partnering with a well-established business looking for a confident, capable Project Engineer to take the reins on mechanical and infrastructure projects from concept through to commissioning. You’ll juggle design, procurement, manufacturing, installation… the whole shebang. And you’ll keep it all compliant, safe, profitable, and on track.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Leading multi-disciplinary teams to deliver engineering/infrastructure projects end-to-end
- Keeping scope, budget, and timelines firmly under control
- Building, managing, and maintaining project plans, budgets, and risk registers
- Overseeing CDM documentation (CPP, PCI, RAMS, H&S Files, etc.)
- Coordinating design, procurement, manufacturing, and on-site installation
- Running regular progress reviews and keeping senior stakeholders informed
- Managing change control and ensuring clear, accurate reporting
- Supporting bids and tenders with commercial and planning input
- Forecasting resource needs and ensuring project milestones are all on time
- Driving process improvement and boosting profitability wherever you can
- Collaborating closely with internal teams to clarify technical requirements
- Encouraging continuous improvement and first-class project delivery
What You’ll Bring
- Experience as a Project Engineer with understanding/experience of managing engineering or construction projects (water, mechanical, or infrastructure is ideal)
- Understanding of project management frameworks (APM, PRINCE2, etc.)
- Ability to read, interpret, and manage technical scopes
- Confident using MS Project or similar tools
- A full UK driving licence
- Strong communicator, problem-solver, and natural organiser
