We are recruiting an Electrical & Controls Design Engineer to work on modern, automated machinery, focusing on PLC programming, control system design, and commissioning. This is a handsâon technical role based in Bristol.
Key Responsibilities
- Design electrical control systems for automated machinery
- Develop and program PLC software using Rockwell (Allen-Bradley) and Beckhoff (TwinCAT)
- Support HMI development and machine control architecture
- Conduct control system safety analysis using Sistema
- Ensure compliance with CE, NEC, CSA, and UL standards
- Commission machinery onâsite and at customer locations as required
- Collaborate with mechanical and electrical engineers to deliver coordinated designs
- Troubleshoot, test, and optimise control systems
- Suggest improvements to machine performance, reliability, and safety
Candidate Requirements
- Handsâon experience in PLC programming and electrical control systems
- Practical experience with Rockwell and/or Beckhoff PLC platforms
- Strong experience creating AutoCAD electrical drawings
- Experience with automated machinery or industrial equipment (packaging or manufacturing advantageous)
- Experience with Agile PLM software
