An established and respected business in Redditch is seeking an Accounts Assistant to join its friendly and supportive team. This is a full-time role although they may consider the right person at 30 hours a week. This is a varied, hands-on role with responsibility for running the accounts function across multiple entities, alongside some general office administration duties where hours allow.
To efficiently manage the accounting systems for a couple of small subsidiary companies through to trial balance as well as the main company accounts; while delivering a high standard of service to customers, directors, colleagues, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
Key Accounting Responsibilities- Managing accounts for multiple entities using Sage 50 and spreadsheets
- Purchase ledger and sales ledger
- Bank reconciliations
- VAT return preparation and submission
- Month-end processes
- Maintaining accurate financial records through to trial balance
- Basic credit control
- Basic health & safety administration in a low-risk office environment
- Sourcing best-value utility suppliers
- Stationery ordering and general office administration
The successful Accounts Assistant will have the following skills and experience:
- Hands-on accounts experience using Sage 50
- Solid experience with purchase and sales ledgers
- Bank reconciliations
- VAT returns
- Month-end accounting processes
In return you can expect to receive a basic salary for between £27,000-£30,000 depending on your skills and experience. This role would suit someone who enjoys autonomy, variety, and being a trusted part of a close-knit team.
