Trainee Estimator – Manufacturing (Joinery & Metalwork) Location: Birmingham (Close to city centre) Salary: £25,000 per annum Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:50am – 4:50pm (36.25 hours per week) Benefits: 26 days holiday + bank holidays (including Christmas closure), Company Pension Life Cover Free On-site Parking Pertemps are currently working on behalf of a highly respected manufacturing firm based in Birmingham, specialising in high-end joinery and architectural metalwork. Due to continued growth and investment in the next generation of talent, we\’re now looking to appoint a Trainee Estimator to join their team. This is a brilliant opportunity for someone with a technical mindset who\’s keen to learn, progress, and grow within the manufacturing or construction sector. What You\’ll Be Doing: Supporting the estimating team with pricing of new project enquiries Assisting in sourcing material and subcontractor costs Learning how to assess labour time and production requirements Helping compile detailed quotations and tender submissions Liaising with internal departments to ensure projects align with estimates Developing an understanding of both joinery and metalwork manufacturing processes What We\’re Looking For: Ideally some background in construction, manufacturing, or technical estimating – but full training will be provided A keen eye for detail and strong numerical skills Good communication and a willingness to learn Interest in bespoke or precision-engineered products A proactive attitude and the ability to work well within a team This role would suit someone with a hands-on mindset who\’s eager to learn the commercial side of manufacturing and develop a long-term career in a specialist industry.
