Site Purchasing Manager Location: Birmingham Salary: Negotiable D.O.E + Benefits Pertemps are delighted to be recruiting on behalf of our client who are seeking an experienced and motivated Site Purchasing Manager to lead their procurement function at a busy manufacturing site. This is an exciting opportunity to join a forward-thinking business that combines the strength of a global group with the agility of a local operation. The Role As Site Purchasing Manager, you will: Lead, develop, and motivate the local purchasing team (including Buyers, Stores, and MRP functions). Take ownership of stock, inventory, and spare parts management using SAP MRP. Oversee sourcing of non-stock engineering parts and implementation of service contracts. Act as SAP MM key user for the site and ensure stock accuracy through robust controls and regular audits. Work closely with Engineering and Operations to maintain correct stock levels and manage consignment stocks. Ensure departmental compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards. Build strong internal and external stakeholder relationships to deliver cost savings and efficiencies. Contribute to wider category management and group purchasing initiatives. About You We are looking for a procurement professional who can thrive in a high-pressure manufacturing environment and lead by example. Key skills and experience include: Strong SAP knowledge and MRP experience. Proven ability in stakeholder engagement and relationship building. Experience in purchasing, stock/inventory/parts management. A confident people manager with experience in appraisals, performance development, and motivating teams. Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to deliver results under pressure. Must hold or be working towards MCIPS qualification.
