We are currently recruiting for a Marine / Heavy Civils Engineer to join a well-established and highly respected engineering consultancy based in Belfast. This opportunity would suit a Civil Engineering graduate with approximately 2 years’ post-graduate experience who is looking to build a long-term career within marine, coastal, and heavy civil engineering projects. You will be supported by senior engineers and benefit from structured training and clear progression.

The Role

Reporting to a Line Manager, you will be involved in the detailed design and delivery of marine and civil engineering works. The role includes both head office-based design and site-based contract administration, offering excellent exposure across the full project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the design, preparation of contract documentation and administration of construction projects under senior supervision
  • Design of marine structures and associated infrastructure within commercial ports and fishing harbours
  • Develop and apply knowledge of sea defences and coastal protection systems
  • Preparation of technical specifications and Bills of Quantities
  • Supervision of technicians in the production of detailed scheme drawings
  • Attendance at design team meetings and client consultations
  • Organising and attending site surveys and site investigations
  • Preparation of feasibility studies, condition inspection reports and appraisal studies
  • Operate in accordance with the company’s Quality Management System
  • Contribute to Health & Safety documentation, including designer input to H&S plans
  • Provide general civil engineering support across other areas of the business when required

Training & Development

Engineers benefit from regular external training, and all graduate engineers are encouraged and fully supported in working towards Chartership with their chosen professional body.
