Our client, a busy school in Handsworth, is seeking an experienced School Caretaker to support the day-to-day running of the site and ensure a safe, clean, and well-maintained environment for staff and pupils. This is a 6–12 month contract, with the potential for extension depending on requirements.
Pay: £15.86–£17.30 per hour
Location: Handsworth
Type: Full-time, On-site
Contract Length: 6–12 months
Requirement: Enhanced DBS Check
Shift Pattern: Morning or Afternoon (to be negotiated once started)
- Morning: 6:30am – 2:30pm
- Afternoon: 10:30am – 6:30pm
Key Responsibilities
- Building & Grounds Maintenance: Carry out proactive and reactive maintenance, minor repairs, and general groundskeeping.
- Low Maintenance Jobs: Support with day-to-day, smaller maintenance tasks.
- Health & Safety: Ensure the site meets all health, safety, and statutory compliance requirements.
- Security: Open and lock the school, manage alarm systems, and respond to emergency call-outs.
- Contractor Liaison: Supervise contractors working on site.
- Stock & Supplies: Monitor and order essential supplies.
- Event Support: Assist with logistics for school events and activities.
