Pertemps are currently recruiting for a Technical Support Engineer to join a specialist chemical manufacturer who are based in Hampshire. Our client is looking for an enthusiastic candidate with a background within engineering to take on a Technical Support role.
Responsibilities:
- Provide extensive technical support and backup to UK & European distributors.
- Develop and implement testing programmes.
- Maintain and expand central knowledge databases for product and application information.
- Attend site visits to support sales staff with technical details.
- Answer calls and emails relating to technical support.
- Host training sessions and hands-on demonstrations of the products.
- Handle product quality complaints.
- Assist with quality control when the QC Technician is absent.
- Write technical articles and product PR.
- Update CRM database, forwarding sales leads to relevant departments.
Requirements:
- Experience within a similar role.
- Experience working with adhesives, sealants, coatings or paints is advantageous.
- Science-based qualification or degree.
- Engineering background.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Happy to travel to Europe occasionally.
- Full UK driving licence.
The Technical Support/ Mechanical Engineer Role:
- Monday to Friday 8am - 4.30pm.
- Negotiable salary depending on experience.
- Annual Bonus.
- Happy with occasional travel including European travel and attending exhibitions.
- 25 days holiday plus bank holiday.
