Pertemps is currently recruiting for an Estates and Facilities Assistant for our client based in Corby.
Salary: £25,235 + £1,500 for shift allowance
Hours: a rota basis between the hours of 8am-5pm
Duties:
- Providing a full range of services to ensure the facilities’ overall environment fully supports the aims and visions of the company, which includes security, portering, maintenance and ground maintenance, health and safety testing, driving and cleaning.
- Having a full knowledge of the procedures for the opening and locking of all buildings, with intruder alarms being activated or deactivated as required, while checking that all unnecessary lights and equipment have been switched off and windows closed and secured.
- Patrolling the premises and property to maximise physical security of all assets and to provide a visible security presence.
- Monitoring the College CCTV systems in line with data protection procedures, and responding to any incidents as required. Reporting any problems or defects with any of the equipment, and liaising with the Police as required.
- Maintaining, decorating and actioning minor repairs to plant, equipment, furniture, fixtures, fittings and the fabric of the building. Undertaking agreed maintenance tasks at designated campuses as requested by the Estates & Facilities Managers.
- Ensuring that all hard areas, grassed areas, drives, surrounds and grounds are kept neat and tidy and free of litter at all times.
- Undertaking Legionella checks through weekly flushing of outlets maintaining appropriate records.
- Where applicable, undertaking weekly fire alarm testing and retaining appropriate records.
- Managing and monitoring the use of the car parks, making sure that the correct permits/tickets are clearly displayed.
Requirements:
- Previous Estates/Facilities/Handyman experience
- Willing to obtain a level of Health and Safety
- Have experience of working with the public and experience of working with young people
