Our client is a world class manufacturing company exporting goods internationally; this fast paced site works on a wide range of projects from a diverse customer base. They now seek to add additional setters to the existing team so if you have previous experience as a setter and knowledge of plastics this could be an excellent opportunity for you.

Duties

•To work with standard operating procedures with emphasis on working towards continuous improvements

•To work with robust systems that benefit the department and organisation as a whole
•Participate proactively in team meetings
•Liaise with inter department s and cross company links in a proactive manner to improve communications and achieve the company objectives.

Main duties and responsibilities
•Continually demonstrate an attention to detail and take responsibility for the reduction of scrap production when setting up the machines through the machine cycle
•All tool changes meet the deadline to enable production to run efficiently
•Notify line manager within specified time scales of any difficult changes that may arise from set and tool changes
•Maintain written records of all setting figures for each job that is set up , include changes while job is running
•Demonstrate basic numeracy skills required within your role
•An ability to work un supervised and supervise other team members whilst maintaining agreed quality standards
•Participate in appraisals , personal development plans and training programmes within the required timeframes and in line with company procedures
•Attend supervisions on a monthly basis with your line manager

Skills/Abilities

• A good level of written and verbal English is required in order to understand often complex instructions, reports and quality assurance documentation.
• Skilled at operating assembly or moulding equipment.
• Equipment Inspection.

Knowledge/Experience

• Knowledge and hands on experience of setting similar manufacturing equipment.

Education/Qualifications

• GCSE or equivalent standard of education.

DESIRABLE CRITERIA
• Apprenticeship, NVQ or certified training in a manufacturing discipline.
• Certified training in setting and operating relevant equipment.
