Overview
We are a nationwide organisation with over 30,000 members across the UK seeking a PR Assistant to join our existing team at our Head Office in Farnham, working as part of the wider PR and Marketing Department.
Salary arrangement: up to £35k depending on experience. You will work 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with at least one day a week working from home. Benefits include health and pension schemes, travel opportunities to UK and overseas events, free parking, 22 days holidays plus bank holidays and Christmas shutdown, and a friendly and professional working environment.
The role would suit candidates who drive and own a car, with experience as a local journalist or press officer and a strong understanding of regional media. An existing network of media contacts and connections to the arts or charities would be advantageous but not essential.
Reporting into the Head of PR and Communications, you will focus on supporting the PR and Marketing team with securing PR coverage for our business across the UK, as well as copywriting tasks and supporting administrative requests for marketing materials.
To be considered for the role, you should be enthusiastic, self-motivated, and ideally have experience as a local journalist or press officer, with a strong understanding of regional media. You should be creative, have an eye for a good story, and know how to gain excellent coverage. You must be a car driver and owner, have exceptional writing skills, attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and the ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities
- Promote the company and its campaigns across regional media outlets to generate coverage.
- Build strong relationships with regional and local broadcasters as well as print and online outlets.
- With the Head of PR, write engaging press releases and liaise with media outlets to secure coverage.
- Support the PR Team to write copy for newsletters, website, blogs and other publicity materials.
- Administer requests for printed marketing materials for new and existing leaders, coordinating orders and distribution (three times a year and as required), liaising with the Projects Coordinator and Graphics Designer for amendments and timely delivery.

- Strong understanding of regional media; creative with an eye for a good story and ability to gain coverage.
- Car owner/driver with exceptional writing skills, accuracy, and attention to detail.
