Personnel Selection is assisting one of our clients based near Overton, Hampshire with the recruitment of a permanent Maintenance Assistant. This will be a standard day shift role, working full time Monday to Friday. This role will be site-based only, with no call outs.
Working within a manufacturing environment, you will report to a Maintenance Leader and will be helping assist with the upkeep of production machinery and the general fabric of the building/facilities, organising contractors where necessary.
This position is with a view to interview and start in January. Our client has opened this position to candidates from all levels and welcomes applicants who are already skilled in this capacity but would also consider candidates that may meet some of the skills listed but would be happy to learn/gain further qualifications on the job. The starting salary offered will be reflected in this, so please inform us when sending your CV over as to what your current salary expectations are.
To be considered for the role, you will need to meet the following skill set:
- Recognised certification in Mechanical Engineering - essential.
- Steady and stable previous work history.
- Good knowledge of Health and Safety within the workplace.
- Computer/Keyboard skills.
- Competent to use hand tools and measuring equipment.
- Numerical and literate, able to decipher technical drawings and specifications.
- Experience of general building maintenance, such as stud walling, plastering, decorating, carpentry, pipework for example.
- A natural engineering mindset.
- Practical knowledge of electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
- Recognised PAT testing qualification - ideal but not essential.
- Recognised Certificate in Plumbing and pipework - ideal but not essential.
- Recognised Certificate in Welding/Fabrication work - ideal but not essential.
- Recognised Certificate in Plumbing/Heating/Air Conditioning/Gas Works - ideal but not essential.
