Personnel Selection is working with a local established engineering company based within Andover. Our client is seeking additional Machine / Foundry operatives to join their existing team. You will be assisting in the manufacture of metal components made using molten metals and associated machinery.

The working hours are Monday to Friday day shift, 38 hours a week. Some flexibility offered on start and finish times. Overtime is paid at time and half on any hours worked over 38. 25 days holiday plus 8 days bank holidays.

Skills needed / requirements of the role:

  • Previously worked for an engineering company - Does not have to be Foundry experience.
  • Operated machinery for an engineering company - Does not have to be foundry machines.
  • Happy to work in manual environments which involves repetitive heavy lifting, bending and standing for long periods.
  • Able to work within strict health and safety guidelines.
  • Can work under own initiative as well as be part of a team.
  • Confident in working with metals and happy to ladle molten aluminium and zinc alloy into machinery moulds by hand.
  • Work with lubricants and oils.
  • Inspection for quality of all items you have produced.
  • Happy to be working in warm areas of the shop floor.
  • Flexible attitude and 'can do' approach to work.
  • Keep working areas as clean as possible.
  • Good positive attitude and sense of humour.
