We are a well-respected international engineering and manufacturing company. Due to our continued success, we are hiring 2 Manufacturing Assembly Operatives to join our team at our modern site in Yateley. The role is part of our professional and friendly manufacturing teams across the site.
Responsibilities
- Assemble the constituent parts of the products from PCB level through sub-assembly to finished units, following company engineering drawings.
- Understand and build to wiring schedules, using appropriate meters to check assembled work.
- Highlight any specification or design error to the Cell Coordinators, Departmental Manager, or the Production Engineering team.
- Ensure all activities are completed in accordance with current Quality System procedures and standards and, wherever possible, within recommended times specified on the company ERP system.
- Raise the appropriate levels of non-conformance reports (Observation Reports, Engineering Change requests, etc.) in compliance with company quality system requirements and departmental guidelines.
- Establish effective working relations with all departments (Production Engineering, Stores, Quality, etc.) to ensure maximum cooperation for the timely resolution of assembly-related issues.
- Provide assistance and support to other assembly staff when requested to complete specific activities.
- Understand and follow all manufacturing department administrative procedures and maintain records via the systems provided.
- Understand and use company IT resources (Intranet, ERP system) in support of day-to-day activities such as part enquiries, stock search, etc.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a manufacturing assembly role, ideally with experience using production equipment such as soldering irons and crimps for cable and mechanical assembly.
- Experience in soldering, cable assembly, mechanical assembly, wiring, crimping and surface-mount technology.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings.
- ERP system experience is an advantage.
- Good understanding of quality system procedures.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
