Personnel Selection are working with a global manufacturing/engineering company on the outskirts of Andover who are seeking a Product Compliance Engineer on a FTC. They are seeking an experienced compliance engineer to join the business as soon as possible to control, maintain and communicate all aspects related to Product Compliance to International Standards. This primarily includes Product Compliance to Standards required for UL, CCC, UKCA and CE certification.
The Role carries the following responsibilities:
- Analyse Product Test results and determine omissions and discrepancies in performance & functionality.
- Ensure all published information is accurate & adheres to the relevant standards.
- Organise test accreditation to international standards through internal & external Test Resources.
- Monitor all international standards and highlight the impact of any changes and/or introduction of new standards on Product Compliance.
- Liaise with standards authors as necessary to propose amendments to standards.
- Liaise directly with appropriate Authorities such as UL to obtain and maintain test accreditation.
- Determine the requirements for certification in all international markets.
- Create and maintain technical files that satisfy the requirements of UL, CCC, UKCA and CE accreditation and any other authority that is highlighted during evaluation of international Standards’ requirements.
- Review Engineering Changes to ensure that any changes do not compromise Product Compliance.
- Specify necessary standards, test methods and functional requirements during new product development cycle.
- Specify & organise Development Testing to ensure Product Compliance to appropriate Standards.
- Provide responses to customers and colleagues with respect to any queries on Standards and Product Compliance.
- Prepare Product Compliance declarations in a timely manner.
- Provide guidance and support to the Banned and Restricted Substances (BARS) Coordinator role.
Qualifications / Experience Required:
- Ideally, a Bachelor’s Degree in an Electro-Mechanical Engineering subject (e.g. Mechatronics, Electrical, Mechanical or Instrumentation).
- A lower level Diploma will be considered for candidates that exhibit the appropriate aptitude for the role.
- Ideally, minimum of two years’ experience in an Engineering Firm/Test Facility, with a role that is focused on evaluating appropriate Standards and devising, setting up and conducting Development and Certification/Qualification testing in accordance with the relevant Standards.
