A Head of Marketing & Communications is needed to lead the marketing function within a UK‑wide charitable organisation based in Frimley. The role reports to the CEO and will oversee a senior marketing team while collaborating closely with partner organisations and external agencies to enhance the organisation’s brand, stakeholder engagement and fundraising effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive marketing, communications and public relations strategy that aligns with organisational objectives and fundraising goals.
- Lead horizon scanning for reputational risks and opportunities, and guide the organisation’s approach to public affairs where relevant.
- Oversee brand development, governance and implementation to ensure consistency across all materials, platforms and touchpoints.
- Manage all digital activity, including website content, SEO, social media, email marketing and analytics.
- Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships to secure positive coverage and thought leadership opportunities.
- Plan, produce and deliver strategic high‑level events, conferences, stakeholder events, launches and VIP visits that reflect the organisation’s brand and strategic priorities.
- Manage external suppliers, agencies and partners, ensuring delivery of quality work on time and on budget.
- Collaborate across departments to support programme delivery, learner engagement and other organisational goals.
Key Qualifications
- Significant experience in a senior marketing, communications or PR leadership role, ideally within education, charitable or youth organisations.
- Demonstrated success in developing and delivering integrated, product/service‑led marketing and communications strategies.
- Strong digital marketing expertise, including web, social, analytics and content strategy.
- Proven experience in high‑level event management and delivery of high‑profile events.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling messages for diverse audiences.
- Experience managing brand development and safeguarding organisational reputation.
- Demonstrated ability to manage crisis communications calmly, confidently and effectively.
- Strong stakeholder management and relationship‑building abilities.
