Are you a 2D CAD Draughtsman looking to play a key role in a busy production environment?
We are seeking a 2D CAD Draughtsman to support the smooth operation of plate profiling machinery and ensure accurate delivery of customer specifications. This is a hands-on role where your technical skills and attention to detail directly impact production efficiency and quality.
You'll have the opportunity for training and career development opportunities, on-site parking and flexible working arrangements and overtime opportunities as workload permits. Salary is to £32000 depending on your experience. If you have basic CAD skills and are happy to become a trainee we'd also love to hear from you!
As a 2D CAD Draughtsman, you will interpret technical drawings, produce digital files and program plate profiling equipment such as plasma, laser, and punch & shear machines. You will generate machine-ready files and provide ongoing support to the production team to maintain workflow continuity and meet delivery deadlines.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of material requirements, machining processes, and 2D CAD software, Lantek experience is desirable but not essential. You will also manage stock levels, maintain machinery readiness, and provide programming and drawing support across the production process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Program and prepare files for plate profiling equipment with precision and efficiency.
- Maintain operational readiness of production machinery.
- Monitor raw materials and consumables, reordering as required.
- Interpret technical drawings and create accurate 2D CAD files.
- Support the production team with programming and workflow continuity.
- Work independently and collaboratively to meet deadlines and production targets.
You'll need:
- Excellent verbal, written, and numeracy skills.
- Strong computer skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Organised and able to prioritise workloads effectively.
- Positive, flexible, and proactive attitude.
- Basic CAD understanding as a minimum – Lantek experience desirable
