About the Role
We are recruiting for an experienced Class 1 HGV Driver to join an established distribution company in Tilbury. This is a trunking role involving regular HGV Class 1 driving, with a 6am start and 10-hour shifts. You will be responsible for completing planned trunking runs safely and efficiently while maintaining high standards of customer service and vehicle care.
What You’ll Do
- Drive Class 1 HGV vehicles on planned trunking routes
- Complete deliveries and collections safely and on time
- Carry out vehicle checks before and after each shift
- Ensure all relevant transport and delivery paperwork is completed correctly
- Follow company procedures and road safety regulations
- Communicate with the transport team regarding routes, deliveries and any issues
- Maintain a professional approach when dealing with customers and other road users
What We’re Looking For
- Valid Class 1 HGV licence, Category C+E
- Previous HGV Class 1 driving experience
- Good knowledge of UK roads and motorway networks
- Safe and responsible approach to driving
- Good timekeeping and reliability
- Good communication skills
- Drivers with previous trunking, distribution, logistics, transport or general haulage experience are encouraged to apply
