We are looking for an Account Manager to join a specialist debt recovery team in Hertford. The company supports property owners, landlords and managing agents with the recovery of service charges, ground rent and associated arrears. This is a detailed client-focused role where you will manage your own caseload and provide a professional and efficient service from start to finish. This suits someone organised, confident with numbers and comfortable dealing with property owners, solicitors and clients in a calm, polite manner.
What you will do:
- Manage a personal caseload of management fee and ground rent arrears
- Take payments by card and allocate cheque payments
- Discuss payment plans and agree arrangements where appropriate
- Handle disputes on individual cases and work towards resolution
- Obtain land registry documents including titles, leases and transfers
- Make and receive calls from owners, solicitors, clients and mortgage lenders
- Respond to written and email queries in a clear, professional way
- Use client systems to obtain statements, demands and invoices
- Prepare and serve Section 121 Notices when required
- Keep clients updated on case progress and report outcomes accurately
What we are looking for:
- High attention to detail with strong organisational skills
- Confident communicator both written and verbal
- Comfortable managing a workload with tight deadlines
- Experience in debt recovery, property administration or legal support is useful but not essential
