Overview

We are recruiting an Events Customer Advisor on behalf of Braintree District Council to support their Venues and Events team. This is a hands-on, customer-facing role supporting the smooth day-to-day running of three council venues used for meetings, conferences, events, and weddings. This role is site-based due to the nature of the work and requires flexibility to support events as needed.

Working hours and days

  • Working hours between 08:00 and 16:00 or 09:00 and 17:00
  • Working days Wednesday and Friday
  • Overtime available
  • Some evening and weekend work on a rota basis

What You’ll Do

  • Set up and clear down rooms in line with customer requirements
  • Support events across three council venues as required
  • Serve pre-prepared refreshments to customers
  • Act as a friendly point of contact for customer enquiries and bookings
  • Build positive relationships to deliver a high-quality customer experience
  • Open and close premises securely
  • Promote council venues and support revenue targets
  • Clean and tidy venues following events
  • Identify faults or issues within venues and escalate appropriately
  • Report defects and support health and safety standards
  • Supervise contractors when required
  • Support council-led events held at any of the venues

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience in a customer service, events, hospitality or facilities based role
  • A practical and proactive approach to work
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work across multiple sites when required
  • Awareness of health and safety in a customer-facing environment
  • Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends on a rota
