About the Role
We are recruiting for a CCTV Operations Officer on behalf of a local council based in Epping. This is a varied and hands-on role supporting the delivery of an effective CCTV service across the borough. You will be responsible for carrying out operational checks, providing first line technical support, coordinating repairs and maintenance, and supporting evidence gathering and processing when required. This role would suit someone with CCTV operations experience, control room experience, surveillance monitoring, technical support, security systems knowledge, or experience working within public sector services, facilities management, or electronic security environments.
What You’ll Do
- Monitor and support the day-to-day operation of CCTV systems
- Carry out system operational checks and identify faults or issues
- Provide first line technical support for CCTV equipment and systems
- Assist with evidence gathering, processing, and data handling in line with procedures
- Coordinate maintenance visits and repairs with contractors and suppliers
- Conduct site surveys and make recommendations for repair or replacement of equipment
- Work closely with the Team Manager to improve service delivery and performance
- Ensure all work is completed in line with council policies, procedures, and statutory obligations
- Maintain high standards of professionalism, confidentiality, and conduct at all times
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience within a CCTV Operative, CCTV Controller, Surveillance Operator, Security Systems Operative, Technical Support, or Control Room environment
- Good understanding of CCTV systems and equipment
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Confident using computer systems and handling sensitive information
- Ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively
- Experience working within local authority, public sector, facilities, security, or monitoring environments would be beneficial
- Knowledge of evidence handling or compliance processes would be advantageous
