Claims Handler – Hertford Salary: £24,000 – £26,000 per year Bonus: Discretionary, up to 5% of base salary Hours: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (30-minute unpaid lunch break) Location: Office-based, Hertford I am currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established and respected law firm that specialises in property law. They are looking to expand their team by appointing a Claims Handler to work from their Hertford office. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in debt recovery or property litigation who enjoys managing a varied and high-volume caseload in a supportive and professional environment. Key Responsibilities: Client Communication * Prepare and issue client care letters, Conditional Fee Agreements (CFAs), and Terms of Business * Provide regular case updates and maintain strong client relationships Legal Documentation * Draft and submit Part 7 claim forms * Prepare applications to request and set aside judgments * Handle procedural documents for out-of-jurisdiction claims Judgment Enforcement * Manage enforcement through High Court enforcement officers * Draft and process charging orders and Orders for Sale * Serve Section 146 Law of Property Act notices Case Management * Manage a high-volume caseload efficiently and accurately * Handle claims relating to service charges, ground rent, insurance, and breaches of lease * Maintain up-to-date and organised case files Collaboration * Work closely with solicitors and other legal professionals * Liaise with external stakeholders including courts, enforcement agencies, and counsel Skills and Experience: Essential: * Strong organisational and case management abilities * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills * Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal case management software * Solid knowledge of the Civil Procedure Rules Desirable: * A legal qualification (Law degree or Paralegal diploma) * Experience in debt recovery or property law * Familiarity with Part 7 claims and enforcement procedures Why Apply? * Competitive salary with discretionary performance bonus * Opportunity to work in a fast-paced and growing legal practice * Supportive working culture and potential for career progression If you have the relevant experience and are looking for a new challenge in a reputable legal environment, please apply now or get in touch for a confidential conversation
