On behalf of our client, a leading specialist off-shore litigation firm, Personnel 2000 are recruiting for a Litigation Associate to join a growing and dynamic team in their Cayman Islands Office.
Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality legal input across all client work, including research, drafting court documents, and reviewing documentation.
- Communicate with clients, counsel, and courts, preparing cases for hearings and trials.
- Handle contentious matters in areas such as insolvency, restructuring, commercial disputes, fraud, asset recovery, regulatory enforcement, trust disputes, and alternative dispute resolution.
- Advocate in court for suitable applications and support senior lawyers and leading counsel as required.
- Take personal responsibility for managing cases effectively and efficiently.
- Collaborate with associates, partners, and paralegals, delegating tasks as appropriate.
- Contribute to the team’s business development initiatives within the Cayman Islands and internationally.
- Adhere to firm policies and procedures, particularly in risk management and compliance.
- Manage and participate in additional projects as assigned by partners.
Qualifications:
- Legal qualification from Cayman Islands, UK, or another Common Law jurisdiction.
- 5 years post-qualification experience (PQE).
- Relevant litigation experience in areas such as insolvency, restructuring, or commercial disputes.
- Strong drafting, research, and written/verbal English skills.
- Proficient in using research platforms, document management systems, and Data Rooms.
- Knowledge of time recording and billing disciplines.
