Our client, a leading international law firm, is seeking an experienced Associate to join its highly regarded Finance & Corporate team in the Cayman Islands, with a focus on investment funds work. This is an excellent opportunity to join a market-leading practice advising global asset managers, institutional investors, private equity sponsors, hedge funds, and other financial institutions on a broad range of investment fund matters. The successful candidate will work on sophisticated cross-border transactions and gain exposure to a diverse portfolio of fund structures and investment strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise on the formation, structuring, launch, and ongoing operation of investment funds.
- Draft, review, and negotiate fund documentation and related corporate agreements.
- Support clients throughout the full investment fund lifecycle, including investor and governance matters.
- Assist with related corporate and transactional work, including restructurings and strategic projects.
- Liaise directly with clients, intermediaries, and external counsel on a range of matters.
- Manage matters efficiently and provide commercially focused legal advice.
- Support and mentor junior team members where appropriate.
- Participate in business development initiatives, industry events, and client relationship activities.
Candidate Requirements
- Qualified lawyer admitted in a recognised common law jurisdiction.
- Approximately 5+ years' post-qualification experience, although candidates with relevant experience at other levels will be considered.
- Strong background in investment funds, corporate, or finance work gained within a reputable law firm.
- Excellent drafting, technical, and analytical skills.
- Strong organisational and matter-management capabilities.
- Ability to build and maintain client relationships in a fast-paced international environment.
- Eligible to work in the Cayman Islands or able to satisfy local work permit requirements.
