You'll use your deep understanding of customer needs to drive that growth here, bringing a transformative product to an HR technology industry set to soar, and helping organisations move away from outdated, manual ways of managing their people.
As a Professional Account Manager, you'll own a book of business across around 200 clients, spanning any and all industries and sectors.
Your portfolio is mixed, but weighted mostly toward our Large and Medium Business customers.

It's a role that blends commercial ownership with genuine customer partnership: you'll safeguard the base while actively building the pipeline that grows it.

- Demo new products and features: run product demonstrations that drive adoption and uncover expansion opportunities within existing accounts.

- Build and manage pipeline: surface and progress upsell and cross‑sell opportunities across your portfolio, contributing to predictable, sustainable growth.
- Manage multiple stakeholders: build and maintain relationships across each customer’s organisation, from day‑to‑day users to economic buyers and executive sponsors.
- Work shoulder‑to‑shoulder with CSMs: partner closely with Customer Success Managers across the account lifecycle to deliver a seamless, joined‑up customer experience.
- Negotiate internally across teams: coordinate with internal stakeholders — including Finance, Legal, Product, Support, and Deal Desk — to secure the right delivery, answer, or resolution for the client.
- Detect trends and opportunities: use data and account insight to spot patterns across your book, informing where to focus retention effort and where to lean into growth.
- De‑escalate and resolve issues: act as a calm, credible presence with upset or frustrated customers, resolving concerns before they threaten the relationship.
- Drive UK market growth: play an influential role in growing Personio’s presence and reputation in the UK market as we scale.
- Role Requirements: What you need to succeed
- 3–4+ years of experience in sales or account management, with a proven track record of growing accounts and exceeding retention targets.
- Strong negotiation skills: confident negotiating renewal terms and commercial agreements that work for both the customer and the business.
- A natural ability to build rapport: you build trusted, lasting relationships with customers and stakeholders at every level.
- An analytical mindset: comfortable working with account and usage data to detect trends, flag risk, and spot growth opportunities across a large portfolio.
