We’re hiring a Senior Engineering Manager (L6) to lead a high-performing team of cross-functional software engineers within our Time domain, based in London. This is an exciting leadership opportunity at the intersection of Time, Money, Payroll, and expansion into our mid-market customer segment. The team owns a key initiative focused on enabling business growth by streamlining how Time data feeds into compensation workflows. The work is meaningful, high-impact, and visible at the highest levels of the company.

You’ll inherit a strong, ambitious team, step into a problem space that is still in discovery, and shape both delivery and people outcomes during a pivotal phase of growth.

The Time area sits at the heart of Personio’s product. Data from Time directly impacts compensation accuracy and customer trust, and the work this team is doing is key to enabling expansion revenue.

This team:

  • Is London-based, with a strong in-office culture

  • Owns greenfield work that is well-scoped but not yet fully defined
  • Works closely with Product, Design, Money, Payroll, Platform, and other partner teams

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a talented team of software engineers, fostering their growth and career progression
  • Own delivery for a high-visibility, business-critical initiative directly connected to our market expansion efforts
  • Set high standards for technical and execution excellence, continually raising the bar
  • Collaborate closely with Product and Design partners to shape impactful solutions from early discovery through landing
  • Apply your engineering background to give clear technical guidance
  • Navigate complexity and ambiguity, helping your team thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment

What We’re Looking For:

  • Proven experience as a senior Engineering Manager leading product teams to success
  • Strong engineering background with the ability to engage meaningfully in technical discussions and support decision-making
  • Experience operating in ambiguous, fast-paced environments, embracing new challenges and learning quickly
  • Track record of coaching and growing engineers to the next level
  • Skilled at fostering a healthy, inclusive team culture and navigating people dynamics with empathy and professionalism
  • Collaborative leadership style with excellent stakeholder management abilities and a track record of effective cross-functional collaboration
