What does a typical day look like at P4A?

Well, the truth is, there isn't one. Each one of our service users is different and their independence goals are personalised to them. Adaptability is at the core of who we are as a service, respecting that each client is an individual is the key to success! Now, there may be some recurring themes around developing independence such as:

  • Attending appointments and routine community-based activities like weekly shopping.
  • Emotional and mental wellbeing support.
  • Providing assistance with personal care needs.
  • Administering and assisting with medication.
  • Support with budgeting and understanding finances.
  • Preparing and/or supporting with meal preparation.
  • Health and fitness activities such as swimming, gym, trampoline parks etc.
  • Building social skills through leisure and social activities like bowling, pool, discos, meals out.
  • Promoting independent travel with support on public transport services.

As a night-based role, some of these are less prominent than others but key is a drive to make a difference and seek new opportunities for our service users to make the most out of their support and strive to reach their individual goals.

What would I need to make a real difference?

Our GROW values are the seedlings of everything we do. Our teams need to be able to embrace and demonstrate these values to support our clients towards independence.
