About Us
As Quality Assurance Advisor / Deputy Responsible Person, you will support the management and ongoing development of our Quality Management System, audit programme and regulatory documentation. You will also provide GDP assurance across areas such as temperature and stock oversight, supplier checks, complaints, deviations, CAPAs, audits and inspection readiness. You will act as an independent assurance line for the business, helping to ensure that our distribution activities remain safe, compliant, well-documented and inspection‑ready. This role is also designed to support development towards being named as Deputy Responsible Person on our WDA(H) licence. You will support and maintain the local Quality Management System, ensuring that controlled documents, SOPs, policies and quality records are kept up to date and aligned with relevant regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and develop the QMS/eQMS, including controlled documentation, SOPs, policies and quality records.
- Support the Responsible Person with delegated GDP duties and WDA(H) licence requirements.
- Investigate deviations, complaints, incidents, quality defects and non‑conformances, ensuring CAPAs are recorded, followed up and closed effectively.
- Manage or support change controls, risk assessments and quality improvement actions.
- Plan, conduct and document internal audits, self‑inspections, supplier audits and GDP spot checks.
- Maintain audit schedules and support preparation for MHRA, GPhC and other regulatory or customer audits.
- Carry out GDP gap analyses and ensure SOPs remain aligned with MHRA, GPhC and GDP guidance.
- Review temperature monitoring records, temperature excursions, cold‑chain processes, mapping and calibration activities.
- Support the approval and ongoing monitoring of suppliers, customers, subcontractors and service providers.
- Conduct bona fide supplier and customer checks and maintain appropriate records.
- Support product returns, recalls, mock recall exercises and decisions relating to returned, rejected, recalled or potentially falsified products.
- Support packing validation, process validation and Computer Systems Validation activity for relevant PHP systems.
- Deliver GDP and quality training to colleagues and support ongoing training records.
- Report quality metrics, trends, risks and improvement actions to internal stakeholders.
- Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of relevant pharmaceutical legislation, GDP guidance and quality requirements, and communicate key updates to the business.
- Support the preparation and review of Quality Management Reviews, quality agreements, organisational charts, job descriptions, training records and other quality documentation as required.
- Work with internal teams and external partners to resolve GDP‑related queries, including delivery issues, transportation conditions and temperature excursions.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years as a Quality Assurance Advisor.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Deputy Responsible Person or working closely with a Responsible Person.
- Eligibility to be named on a WDA(H) licence.
- A degree in pharmacy, chemistry, biology, medicine, pharmaceutical sciences or another relevant life science subject.
- Membership of a relevant professional body with a published code of conduct.
- Experience in cold‑chain management, temperature excursions, stock control, recalls or product returns.
Additional Information
- Salary: £33,000-£38,000.
- Location: Leicester LE4, moving to LE18 in Summer 2026.
