We are seeking a reliable and compassionate Care Assistant to support an individual with health needs in their home. This is a casual position providing cover for holidays, sickness and appointments. Hours are offered as required and will be agreed in advance with as much notice as possible. Typical hours when covering leave may fall between Monday and Saturday, starting between 09.30 and 10.00 and finishing between 12.00 and 14.00. Exact hours will vary depending on the needs of the individual.
Responsibilities
- Provide personal care and support with daily living activities
- Prepare meals and follow recipes as required
- Assist with household tasks and general domestic duties
- Drive the individual to shops, pharmacy and appointments
- Support attendance at appointments including assisting with mobility and wheelchair use
- Ensure the safety, comfort and wellbeing of the individual at all times
Skills and Qualifications
- At least 1 year experience in a caring role which may include family care
- Full clean UK driving licence
- Access to a vehicle suitable for transporting a manual wheelchair
- Willingness to arrange appropriate business insurance cover for transporting the individual
- Good housekeeping and domestic skills
- Ability to provide two references prior to employment
- Willingness to undertake an Enhanced AccessNI check before starting
- Right to work in the UK
- Comfortable working in a home with a dog
