We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Disability Support Worker to provide essential assistance to individuals with disabilities. This paid position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those requiring support with daily activities.
The role involves working closely with clients to promote independence, safety, and wellbeing within a supportive environment. The successful candidate will have a genuine interest in caring for others and possess excellent communication skills.
Responsibilities- Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal care, mobility, and household tasks
- Develop and implement personalised care plans in collaboration with healthcare professionals and families
- Support clients in participating in social and recreational activities to promote engagement and wellbeing
- Provide transportation as needed, including driving clients to appointments or community activities
- Monitor and record client progress, reporting any concerns or changes to the relevant team members
- Maintain a safe and clean environment, adhering to health and safety regulations
- Communicate effectively with clients, families, and team members to ensure consistent care delivery
- Experience working with children or individuals with disabilities is highly desirable
- Valid driving licence and ability to drive safely within the community
- Knowledge of childcare practices and support strategies tailored to individual needs
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to build rapport with clients and their families
- Basic IT skills for documentation and communication purposes
- Compassionate attitude with a genuine desire to support others’ independence and quality of life
- Ability to work flexibly within scheduled shifts, including some evenings or weekends if required.
