A bright and outgoing 22-year-old young woman with autism is looking for a Personal Assistant/Care Assistant to support her in living life to the fullest and enjoying the activities she loves. She enjoys shopping, gaming, going to the cinema, attending gaming conventions, and spending time out in the community. While she is keen to participate in a wide range of activities, she requires support and supervision to help keep her safe and encourage her independence.
About the Role
- Support and promote independence in the local community
- Accompany and assist with leisure activities and hobbies
- Encourage participation in social and community activities
- Provide gentle prompting with personal care and hygiene routines
- Undertake occasional light household tasks
- Build a positive and supportive working relationship
No previous care experience is required, although experience or awareness of autism would be advantageous.
Requirements:
- Full UK driving licence
- Access to a vehicle with business insurance
- Ability to join the PVG Scheme
- Ability to provide two satisfactory references
- Female applicants only - this post is exempt under Schedule 9, Part 1 of the Equality Act 2010
Additional Information:
- Two weeks' leave over the festive period
- Flexible working arrangements between 10.00am and 5.00pm by agreement
- Some weekend work may be available
