The predicted salary is between 12 - 15 £ per hour.
We are looking for the right person to join our established support team and help support our teenage daughter, who has severe epilepsy and complex disabilities, with all aspects of her day-to-day care. She enjoys listening to music, watching movies, relaxing with her sensory lights on, going out for lunch and exploring nature on walks. We are looking for someone who will support her to enjoy the activities she loves while providing high-quality care and ensuring her safety and wellbeing. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference while working closely with our family and an existing team of support workers.
Shift Pattern
- Morning personal care calls (1 hour)
- Evening/bedtime calls
- Staff holiday and sickness cover
- Occasional overnight shifts
This is a casual position with variable hours available based on our daughter’s and family needs. Availability can be discussed with the successful applicant.
Main Duties
- Personal care
- Meal preparation and feeding support
- Medication administration
- Moving and handling
- Supporting activities, outings and community access
- Any other duties relevant to supporting our daughter
About You
- You will be patient, reliable, trustworthy, caring and encouraging.
- You should be comfortable working both independently and as part of a small established team.
- Experience supporting disabled children or young people is preferred.
- Experience with epilepsy is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided.
- Full UK driving licence
- Willingness to drive a wheelchair accessible vehicle (WAV)
- PVG membership or willingness to join the scheme
- Good spoken and written English
- Right to work in the UK
