About you

You will be a great communicator, and you’ll be someone who understands and can demonstrate excellent customer service skills. Previous experience of working in a café environment and a level 2 food hygiene qualification would be ideal. As the role requires some stock rotation and ordering, you will need to have basic numeracy and literacy skills, but most of all we want someone who shares our workplace values. You’ll also need to be comfortable with overseeing the café team and compliance with quality standards. You will need to be able to prepare a range of hot and cold meals and bake a variety of cakes as well as make hot and cold drinks. No one will meet every single desired qualification. If your experience looks a little different from what we're saying and you think you can bring value to the role, we'd love to learn more about you!

About the role

You will ensure the efficient day to day running of the café. You will work with and oversee the café assistants and volunteers to ensure a warm welcome is offered to all visitors, whilst providing hot and cold drinks and snacks and embedding the five Persona values into everything you do. You will need to start work slightly earlier and finish slightly later than the café’s opening times, to support the opening and closing of service.

In return for your contribution we will support you throughout your career. We provide a wide range of employee benefits, career development and lifestyle support services to ensure that you too feel supported, fulfilled and valued from day one of your employment with us.

Please note: Satisfactory disclosure at the appropriate level under the Disclosure and Barring Service is required prior to appointment. Please note we are not currently in a position to offer sponsorship to workers.

Persona is committed to being an inclusive employer and recognises the value of having a diverse workforce that reflects the communities we serve. We welcome applications from all people, irrespective of their personal characteristics or circumstances, and appointments are made objectively based upon talents, abilities and experience. Where possible, we will support employees to work flexibly or with adjustments, so that they can perform to their best ability. We are committed to providing a working environment where all employees are treated with dignity and respect, and where individual skills and life experiences are valued.

Persona is a leading social care provider in Bury and was created in October 2015. We are proud to have a long track record as quality in-house services.
