Personpower is proud to be working with a well-established and highly regarded Children's Residential provider based in Colchester for young people aged between 8 - 17 with emotional and behavioral needs.

The Role

As the Deputy Manager, you will support the Registered Manager in the day-to-day running of the home. You will lead by example, ensuring the highest standards of care and safeguarding are maintained. This is a hands-on role combining leadership responsibilities with direct care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Registered Manager in ensuring the home meets Ofsted regulations and achieves "good" or "outstanding" ratings.
  • Lead shifts and supervise a team of Support Workers.
  • Support in rota planning, staff development and mentoring.
  • Manage and oversee care planning, risk assessments, and behaviour support strategies.
  • Promote positive outcomes in education, health and emotional wellbeing.
  • Act as a designated safeguarding lead in the absence of the manager.

About You

  • NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare (or Children & Young people).
  • At least 1 year of experience as a Deputy Manager or strong Team Leader/Senior experience with an understanding of Regulations and Supporting Reg 44 visits.
  • Knowledge of Children's Homes Regulations and Ofsted.
  • Excellent communication, leadership and organisation skills.
  • Full UK Driving License and Full Right to Work.
