Weāre looking for an experienced Software Engineering Manager to lead multiple development squads working on a major PCS product line. Youāll guide people, processes, and technology to deliver high-quality, scalable software products. This role blends handsāon technical leadership with team management and continuous improvement ā ideal for someone who thrives on building great teams and great software.
What Youāll Do
- Lead and mentor multiple software engineering squads, fostering a culture of collaboration and technical excellence.
- Oversee delivery, Agile practices, and engineering quality across the product line.
- Drive improvements across the full software development life cycle (SDLC).
- Promote the use of AI tooling to boost developer productivity and automate repetitive tasks.
- Champion clean code, scalable design, and testability across all development work.
- Work closely with Product, DevOps, and the CTO to deliver robust, maintainable, and monitorable solutions.
- Ensure clear requirements, strong estimations, and consistent delivery outcomes.
- Lead recruitment and onboarding for new engineers, ensuring high-quality hires.
What Youāll Bring
- Proven experience leading and developing software engineering teams in hybrid or distributed environments.
- Strong understanding of Agile delivery, TDD/BDD, and test automation.
- Handsāon experience with Microsoft .NET (C#, .NET 9) and MS SQL Server.
- Solid background in delivering enterpriseāgrade, multiātenant SaaS products.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with both technical and business teams.
- Experience with highāthroughput, highāavailability, scalable systems.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Azure (AKS, Event Grid, Service Bus, Functions, SQL).
- Experience with Blazor or modern frontāend frameworks (React, Razor, Vue).
- Understanding of compliance frameworks (ISOā27001, Cyber Essentials Plus, NHS DSPT/DTAC).
- Knowledge of healthcare, social care, or other regulated domains would be an advantage.
