About us
Camascope India is part of Person Centred Software (PCS) Group, a fast-growing technology group focused on empowering the care and medication sector. Following PCS's acquisition of Camascope, our India team continues to build the products that connect pharmacies, care homes and doctors - now as part of a larger, international engineering organisation serving thousands of care professionals every day. This role is dedicated to a PCS product, working closely with our UK product engineering teams.
What you will work on
As Engineering Manager, you will build and lead a new team of 6 engineers in India delivering a PCS product, working closely with a counterpart engineering team in the UK. You will start hands-on contributing directly to code for roughly half your time while establishing team practices, hiring, and delivery rhythm. As the team matures and grows (including a planned second team under your leadership), your contribution will shift from hands-on coding toward team leadership, coaching and cross-team coordination.
Responsibilities
- Hire, build and lead a new engineering team of 6 in India, growing the team's capability and, over time, a second team under the same remit.
- Contribute hands-on to design, engineering and delivery of features - approximately 50% of your time initially, tapering as the team scales and matures.
- Own day-to-day team operations - sprint delivery, 1:1s, performance management, hiring and career development.
- Work closely with the UK product engineering team to align on delivery scope, priorities and technical direction for the shared PCS product.
- Champion continuous delivery, with testing and security embedded in CI/CD pipelines, and promote DevSecOps practices across the team.
- Make significant contributions to technical and architectural decisions, keeping systems, standards and practices coherent with the wider PCS engineering organisation.
- Identify and remove blockers, process inefficiencies and technical debt proactively.
- Be accountable for the full software development lifecycle - from design through to production, monitoring and support.
- Foster a learning and mentoring culture; actively coach engineers and help them grow.
- Collaborate closely with Product Managers, QA and Design to achieve shared product outcomes.
Requirements
- 8+ years of software engineering experience, including experience as an Engineering Manager or senior technical lead of a team, with a strong portfolio of C#/.NET applications.
- Deep understanding of the C#/.NET ecosystem, and experience with cloud platforms (Azure and/or AWS) and cloud-native development.
- Experience with modern DevOps/CI-CD practices.
- Strong understanding of RESTful API design, security (e.g. OWASP API Security) and system architecture at scale.
- Proven experience building and leading a team from the ground up - hiring, structuring, and establishing delivery practices for a new team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience collaborating across distributed or international teams.
- Capable and comfortable working with Agile/Scrum methodologies, and coaching a team on them.
- Good understanding of database technologies, message queues, and data security.
- Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills, with a fix-forward, learning mindset.
- Bachelor's/master's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience working with, or managing engineers who use, AI-assisted development tools (e.g. GitHub Copilot).
Bonus points for
- Experience managing or growing a second team, or scaling an engineering org from one team to several.
- Prior experience in healthcare, care or pharmacy technology, or another highly regulated environment.
- Experience with cloud migration projects or multi-cloud environments.
- Prior experience in a post-acquisition or newly integrated engineering organisation.
- Hands-on experience with Blazor (web) and/or Maui (mobile).
