What is the role? This is an exciting opportunity to join the Persimmon Homes Construction Team as an Independent Quality Controller. Reporting to the Divisional Construction Compliance Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring our homes meet regulatory and warranty standards before completion with reference to the Persimmon Way. This is primarily a site‑based role across the region, with some flexibility for home working when business needs allow.

What you’ll do as an Independent Quality Controller:

  • Conduct regular quality and compliance inspections across development sites
  • Produce clear, accurate reports identifying risks, non‑compliance and improvement actions
  • Monitor performance of subcontractors and site teams against agreed standards
  • Provide constructive feedback and coaching to support quality improvement
  • Investigate workflow or compliance issues and ensure corrective actions are implemented
  • Work collaboratively with construction, technical, commercial and buying teams to uphold build standards
  • Contribute to continuous improvement in line with the Persimmon Way

This role is about raising standards through partnership and influence — not just inspection.

What experience do I need? We’re open to candidates from a range of construction and quality‑related backgrounds. Experience in construction quality (or related background), inspection, compliance, or a similar technical role including residential, building control, social housing, engineering, retrofit, warranty inspection or other regulated construction environments.

Knowledge of UK building regulations and warranty standards (or the ability to develop this quickly).

Relevant construction, inspection or quality‑related qualifications — or equivalent practical experience.

Strong report writing and communication skills.

Confidence working independently while collaborating across multiple teams.

A proactive, improvement‑focused mindset.
