About the Role
The purpose of this role is to ensure that health, safety, and environment (HS&E) standards are met throughout the company. You will develop, review, and enforce HS&E plans, conduct site inspections, manage incidents, and liaise with regulatory agencies.
Responsibilities
- Develop and enforce HS&E plans across the region.
- Identify hazards, conduct risk assessments, and report non-compliance during site visits.
- Produce management reports on safety metrics and incidents.
- Inspect construction sites regularly, including out-of-hours inspections.
- Investigate incidents and report to HSE under RIDDOR.
- Monitor contractors' performance against risk assessments and method statements.
- Maintain relationships with regulatory agencies such as HSE, Local Authority, and Environment Agency.
- Provide HS&E advice, training, and conduct meetings to uphold standards.
- Manage safety concerns and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
- Build effective relationships within the team to promote a safe working environment.
Candidate Requirements
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to produce accurate reports and use IT systems.
- Good understanding of workplace hazards.
- NEBOSH National General Certificate in Health and Safety.
- IOSH membership is desirable.
