We’re looking for an enthusiastic Commis Chef to join the kitchen team at The Jockey Inn, a welcoming countryside pub serving quality, seasonal food in a relaxed setting. This is a great opportunity for someone at the early stages of their chef career who is passionate about food, keen to learn and eager to develop their skills in a supportive, professional kitchen.

The Role

  • Assisting senior chefs with the preparation and cooking of fresh, homemade dishes
  • Preparing ingredients to a high standard ahead of service
  • Maintaining a clean, organised, and efficient workstation
  • Following food safety, hygiene, and health & safety procedures at all times
  • Supporting the kitchen team during busy service periods
  • Helping with stock rotation and basic kitchen organisation

What We’re Looking For

  • Some previous experience in a professional kitchen or catering environment
  • A genuine interest in food and a willingness to learn and develop
  • Basic knowledge of food hygiene and kitchen safety
  • A positive attitude and strong work ethic
  • Ability to work well as part of a close-knit team
