Responsibilities
- Record and reconcile settlement posting and positions between our in-house system and the real world.
- Build strong and detailed System and Process knowledge to resolve complex reconciliation issues between systems.
- Ensure all settlement queries are accurately allocated and responded to.
- Review and publish settlement fails and reconciliation reporting showing excellent attention to detail and foresight.
- Build and maintain good relationships with various external Custodian, Agent Banks, CSD’s and CCP’s.
- Work closely with internal teams to provide excellent client service.
- Foster good internal relationships to ensure that issues are dealt with timely and accurately.
- Monitor resolution of breaks and challenge and escape when necessary.
- Completing root cause analysis of errors within settlements departments to identify appropriate solutions.
- Cross train other team members as required to ensure full task coverage.
- Demonstrate Risk Management awareness and escalate accordingly.
- Understand and monitor the department operational controls and procedures to keep up to date.
- Provide administration functions such as Mailbox management & data collation.
- Ensuring that training materials and matrices are kept up to date in all aspects of the role.
- Proactively seek opportunities to improve processes.
- Positively adapt to changes in Systems or processes.
- Manage team resourcing.
- Work on functional changes through project streams, feeding back detail to management.
- Provide MI on key metrics around settlements life cycle and supporting tasks.
- Work on client RFPs, provide details on workshops and walkthroughs.
- Provide ideas for reworking functions utilizing AI and robotics.
- Supporting regulatory change and working with auditors.
- Complete work review and approvals.
Qualifications
- High School/secondary school or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Proficiency with formulas, Lookups and Pivot tables in Excel to perform manual reconciliation and reporting.
- Experience in brokerage/banking operations preferred.
