Woodthorne Primary School is looking for a compassionate, skilled and enthusiastic Level 3 Teaching Assistant to provide one-to-one support for an exceptional KS2 learner. This is a truly special role. You will be working with a child who is a delight to be around; a happy, vibrant individual who is loved by everyone and brings a smile to every room. The child requires supervision throughout the day and benefits from an adapted, personalised curriculum. They can struggle with remembering steps and routines, so the right TA will be someone who can support learning in small, meaningful stages, offering gentle guidance, structure and plenty of encouragement. With the right person beside them, this learner will continue to grow in independence, confidence and curiosity; and you will play a key part in that journey.

Responsibilities

  • Provide one-to-one support for a KS2 learner with an adapted, personalised curriculum.
  • Support learning in small, meaningful stages, offering gentle guidance, structure and encouragement.
  • Help the learner remember steps and routines by modelling and scaffolding.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff and specialists to monitor progress and adjust approaches as needed.
  • Maintain a safe, inclusive environment and uphold school values.

Qualifications and experience

  • Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
  • Experience of working with KS2 learners and supporting individual needs.
  • Patient, nurturing and able to form strong, trusting relationships.
  • Skilled in adapting learning experiences to meet individual needs.
  • Creative, proactive and able to think differently to capture interest and spark joy.
  • Reflective and resilient, able to celebrate small wins and build progress step by step.
