Description Overview
In this role you will provide an engineering support service to the Manufacturing and Packaging departments through effective supervision of a Production Engineering team.
You will ensure that production machinery is fit for purpose and performing at the required standard to deliver the production plan.
- Scope of the Role
- Ensure that engineering parts, materials and consumables inventory is maintained.
- Source and procure the aforementioned items as required.
- Set direction to the production support engineering team. Set both long- and short-term priorities, allocate resources and ensure continuity through effective handovers.
- Liaise with external departments to understand customer requirements and establish priorities.
- Provide communication with and feedback to external departments.
- Line manage the Production Support Engineers. Motivate & facilitate the team members to constantly strive for improvement.
- Undertake such other reasonable duties as may be required from time to time in order to support the Perrigo business.
Experience Required
Must Haves
- Ability to handle any work-related pressure situations whilst remaining calm and approachable.
- Able to interpret business priorities and translate into priorities for self & others.
- Positive and flexible attitude towards own department and customers.
- Aptitude to accept change culture.
- Recognised Engineering Apprenticeship plus 2 years post qualification experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
- NVQ II in Mechanical Engineering (preferably with Electrical Module).
- Preferred
- Good working knowledge of engineering related safety legislation i. e. PUWER.
- Experience/knowledge of maintenance philosophies such as PPM, TPM.
- Continuous improvement/lean manufacturing experience.
- Knowledge of c GMP practices relating to Engineering.
- NVQ III Supervision.
