Description Overview

You can appreciate the elegance of every chart. Impressive Excel functions and finding new ways to visualise data drive you. Numbers are the tools you’re comfortable with but deciphering the why and telling the story is what makes you come to life. Lots of roles consider themselves to be the ‘hub’ of a business but you really are. The GM may come to you directly with questions and you’re comfortable being the go-to for everyone, at all levels, who want to understand our business performance. Being an integral part of the Category Management team and having close contact with Sales and Marketing gives you the opportunity to lead future thinking while gaining a very broad view of the business and how it operates.

Scope of the Role

  • Market Reporting and Insights: Own our analytical capability ensuring we have robust usable data that drives the category understanding we need, delivered and displayed in the best way. Deliver and evolve a suite of monthly and weekly reporting across the online and traditional markets that give our retailer partners and Perrigo a competitive edge. Effectively interpret all available industry, category, customer and shopper data turning it into actionable insights delivered in a compelling way. Keep up to date with relevant industry news, know the grocery and pharmacy retail landscape, know our customers and competitive set, and most of all know your numbers.
  • Champion Data: Identify and implement solutions for business reporting needs and deliver efficiencies. Manage budget process, covering purchase orders and ensuring we are buying the right data. Use of data analysis and reporting tools including Epos systems, panel data and web analytics. Innovate to find ways of combining and cutting data to give the business the best view of the market. Ensure data literacy and system usage self-sufficiency across the business. Nurture a culture of self-service by regularly coaching and training your business partners to access information they need for themselves. Provide new thinking in the space of data and analytics. Improve automation and delivery of our numbers and new ways of data visualisation.
  • Leverage Cross-Functional Relationships: Coordinate and prioritise cross-functional insight projects. Collaborate with Central Insights team to deliver in-depth insight and shopper understanding. Partner with Sales and Marketing to understand current data and insight usage and how you can best support continued or changing needs. Manage agency relationships to design and implement best in class execution. Liaise with Finance and Corporate teams to ensure accurate reporting of Perrigo sales and results for external parties.
  • People Leadership: Line management and development of 1 Strategic Insight Analyst. Support the development of the Category Management and CSI team by sharing best practice and delivering formal and on the job training. Advocate for Category Management and develop a Category mindset across the wider business. Champion our data and data literacy throughout the commercial teams through a curriculum of continuous learning.

Experience Required

  • Experience in Category Management roles, using market data (Kantar/Nielsen/Circana) & Retailer data (AdCard, Dunnhumby).
  • Expert in Excel and creating PBI reports.
  • Ability to interpret data and make commercial recommendations.
  • Senior stakeholder management – both internally and externally (agencies).
