Description Overview
In this role you will be a member of the Production team (packing or manufacturing) who provides support activities to the Operators who operate the Manufacturing and packing lines for the following:
- Movement of material between lines and their designated storage areas
- Cleaning of production equipment either manually or using the automated cleaning equipment
- Cleaning the environment and performing general hygiene duties
The day-to-day activities include achieving safety, quality, volume, and behavioural expectations with timely escalation of deviations where required. You will work with team members and other internal support functions and report to the Team Manager of Packing or Manufacturing depending on the principle duties allocated to you.
Scope of the Role
- Assure the safety of oneself and others.
- Conduct quality checks and relevant follow-up activities.
- Read, understand, and act on detailed written instructions and procedures.
- Move components, materials, and products from their designated storage locations to the line or vice-versa, using, where required, electric forklift / pallet trucks.
- Move, clean, and dry equipment using manual or automatic machines and installations to meet the defined production plan.
- Assist with changeover activities of the line including but not limited to cleaning of equipment, waste disposal and movement of materials.
- Measure and record data, adding explanations and comments to paperwork where appropriate and required.
- Interact with electronic production monitoring equipment.
- Perform environmental cleaning and housekeeping duties and maintain the work environment in GMP compliant state.
- Participate in team briefings, continuous improvement projects or other initiatives designed to ensure competitiveness of the company.
- Provide training for colleagues in the job-holder’s area of expertise, if selected by the company for providing training.
- Escalate relevant information and decisions to the jobholder’s colleagues and managers.
Experience Required
- Basic numeracy and literacy skills.
- Able to follow the principles of team working.
- Able to undertake physical work which will involve lifting, lowering, carrying, pushing and pulling as defined by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE), whilst keeping up with production line speed.
- Able and willing to learn to operate an electric forklift.
- Willing to demonstrate consistently the company core values and performance pillars over time.
